I want to share an observation I’ve made over the last 28 years of my law practice.
The clients and families who suffer the worst and most horrific personal injuries make the best clients.
It’s a universal law.
I am constantly amazed and inspired by folks who, under the most terrible circumstances, are the most understanding, patient, and pleasant to deal with.
Folks with every reason to be bitter, angry and disagreeable are just the opposite.
In trying to make sense of this phenomenon, I’ve come to believe that the traumatic and life-changing event or tragedy gives them a new perspective on life.
Those who’ve been to the depths have an appreciation of life many of us don’t know.
They have a strength that is truly noticeable and admirable.
Today I met with 2 brothers who have been helping their dad who was very seriously injured in a car crash. His life will never be the same. He may very well spend the rest of his life in a nursing home, going in and out of reality.
The boys have put their lives on hold, and have been tirelessly devoted to their dad.
In dealing with the legal aspects of his case, they could not be any better to work with. While the honor of helping is mine, they are forever thankful and appreciative of my efforts, and that of the entire staff.
As their lawyer, we are team-mates really.
And, you can’t go wrong with folks like that.
Keep your strength.
